Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This policy explains what data EraVenda collects, why we collect it, and how you can control it. We're committed to keeping your information safe and being transparent about how we use it.

1. What we collect

We collect information in three categories:

Account information

Your name, email address, phone number, and delivery addresses. If you're a seller or professional, we also collect your store name, business details, and product or service listings.

Transaction data

Order history, purchase amounts, items bought, services booked, and reviews you leave. This helps us track deliveries, process refunds, and improve the marketplace.

Payment information

We do not collect or store your payment card details. All card and mobile money payments are processed directly by Paystack, our payment partner. We only receive confirmation that a payment was completed.

2. How we use your data

We use your information to:

  • Process your orders and deliver your purchases
  • Connect you with sellers and professionals
  • Communicate with you about your account, orders, or service bookings
  • Review new stores and product listings before they go live
  • Send you updates about deals, new features, or marketplace news (with your consent)
  • Improve our platform, fix issues, and develop new features
  • Meet legal and accounting obligations

3. Who we share it with

We share your data only when necessary to operate the marketplace:

  • Sellers see the delivery details they need to fulfill your order (name, address, phone).
  • Professionals see the contact and location details needed to provide their service.
  • Paystack processes payment information directly — we never see your card details.
  • Delivery partners receive address and contact information to complete deliveries.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We will never share your information for advertising purposes without your explicit consent.

4. Data retention

We keep your account and order data for as long as your account is active. After you close your account, we retain transaction records as needed to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations — typically up to six years under Ghanaian law. You can request earlier deletion by contacting us, though some records must be kept by law.

5. Your rights

Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Request deletion of your account and personal data
  • Object to or restrict certain uses of your data
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time

You can update your profile details at any time from your account page. To exercise other rights, contact us.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use browser localStorage to save your preferences (like theme and cart contents) and to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. You can clear localStorage from your browser settings at any time, though this will reset your preferences and cart.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password storage, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to stay current with best practices.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes by email or through the platform. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.

9. Contact

Questions or concerns about this policy or how we handle your data? Contact us and we'll respond as soon as possible.
