Terms of Service

Welcome to EraVenda. These terms cover your use of our marketplace — both buying and selling products, and booking professional services. By creating an account or using EraVenda, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Your account

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account credentials secure. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. If you suspect unauthorized use of your account, contact us immediately.

2. Buying products

EraVenda is a marketplace — sellers are independent third parties, not employees or agents of EraVenda. When you place an order, you're entering a purchase agreement directly with the seller. We facilitate the transaction, but the seller is responsible for product accuracy, pricing, stock levels, and fulfillment.

Placing an order is an offer to purchase, which the seller may accept or decline based on stock availability. If an order is declined, you'll receive a full refund.

3. Booking services

When you book a professional through EraVenda, you're engaging their services directly. Professionals are independent service providers, not EraVenda employees. We verify and review professionals, but we do not guarantee the quality or outcome of their work. If you're unsatisfied with a service, contact us and we'll work to resolve the issue.

4. Payments

Payments are processed through our payment partner, Paystack. We accept card payments, mobile money, and cash on delivery (where available). You agree to pay all charges at the prices listed at the time of purchase, including any applicable delivery fees. At checkout you may choose in-person pickup from the seller instead of delivery; pickup orders are not charged a delivery fee.

5. Selling on EraVenda

Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of their product listings, pricing, inventory, and fulfillment. New stores and product listings are reviewed before going live, but review does not guarantee accuracy or compliance.

EraVenda charges sellers a product commission on each completed sale, calculated as a percentage of the item's sale value and deducted from the seller's proceeds before payout. At launch, the commission is a flat 5% on every product, across all categories. This flat launch rate is a deliberate starting point to keep pricing simple and fair while EraVenda is new to the public, and EraVenda may revise it later — including moving to category-specific rates — with at least 30 days' notice to sellers. No product category commission rate will ever exceed 10%.

Paystack payment-processing fees and any delivery-fee split are separate from the EraVenda commission and are deducted in addition to it, which may further affect a seller's final payout.

6. Professional registration

Service professionals who register on EraVenda are responsible for the accuracy of their service descriptions, pricing, and availability. Professionals must maintain any licenses or certifications required for their trade. EraVenda may suspend or remove professionals who receive consistent negative reviews or violate these terms.

On-platform payments only. By registering as a service professional, you agree that all job payouts for work booked through EraVenda are handled exclusively within the EraVenda payment system. The seeker pays the agreed job amount plus the EraVenda service commission upon completion of the job, and EraVenda releases the agreed job amount to the professional after the work is verified. Soliciting or accepting payment for an EraVenda-booked job outside of the platform ("off-platform transactions") is strictly prohibited and is grounds for suspension or removal from the platform, regardless of how the job was originally sourced.

7. Service booking charges

When you book a handyman, the amount you agree with the professional is the service amount. EraVenda charges the professional a flat 4% service commission on that amount, deducted from their payout after the job is verified — well within the platform-wide 10% commission ceiling described in Section 5. The commission is shown to you before you pay and supports platform operations, matching, payment handling and dispute resolution. The professional receives the agreed service amount after payment and verification. You must review the job amount, commission and total before confirming payment.

8. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

• List counterfeit goods, fraudulent services, or misleading product descriptions
• Use the platform for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users, sellers, or professionals
• Attempt to circumvent EraVenda's payment system or fee structure
• Create multiple accounts to evade restrictions or penalties

Violations are grounds for suspension or permanent removal from the platform, at our sole discretion.

9. Reviews and ratings

Buyers and service customers may leave reviews and ratings. You agree that reviews will be honest and based on actual experience. EraVenda reserves the right to remove reviews that are fraudulent, offensive, or unrelated to the transaction.

10. Limitation of liability

EraVenda is a marketplace platform connecting buyers with sellers and customers with professionals. We are not a party to the sale contract between buyer and seller, nor to the service agreement between customer and professional. To the fullest extent permitted by law, EraVenda disclaims liability for product quality disputes, service outcomes, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform.

11. Dispute resolution

If you have a dispute with a seller or professional, contact us first and we'll attempt to facilitate a resolution. If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, it will be governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana and subject to the jurisdiction of Ghanaian courts.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes by email or through the platform. Continued use of EraVenda after a change means you accept the updated terms.
